Choir

Satis Stella and Wolf Pack are busy preparing for the All-Conference Choir event on Tuesday, February 13. This is an all day event where other choir students from neighboring districts bring their top singers, rehearse music all day, and then perform them during the school day (1:20PM Concert in the NHS auditorium).

Vocal Jazz is busy preparing for the Coffee House concert April 2 at 7:30.

Vocal Jazz, Chamber Singers, Satis Stella, Wolf Pack, and some soloists and duets are preparing for District Solo and Ensemble in Ashland, WI on Saturday, April 6. They will be competing for metals in their categories as well as an opportunity to advance on to the State Competition in Eau Claire.

The choir is also holding a fundraising event at Culver’s in Superior called a “Share Night.” From 5pm-8pm 10% of the profits made at Culver’s will be donated back to the choir to help pay for their upcoming Chanhassen trip.

Next up: our chapter will compete at the State Career Development Conference in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin at the end of February.  We have 14 students competing in Series/Team events, projects, Economics tests, etc.  They will also have the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, attend leadership development workshops, and will expand their network.

FCA

Fellowship of Christian Athletes meets every Fri. morning at 7:30 in Room 3058.  Our leaders are Jenna Hursh, Lawson Burkhart, Ashlyn Sutherland and Addison Hanson.
Breakfast treats are served!  We were recently blessed by an anonymous donation to our Huddle group and we have some ideas of how to be a blessing to others with those funds!  Everyone is welcome - you do NOT have to be an athlete.  Please see any of the leaders with questions.

National Honor Society

During Snow Week, the students raised money to support the Rural Care and Share Food Shelf by hosting a dodgeball tournament and doing a Miracle Minute during a girls’ basketball game; around $375 will be donated.

NES Mentors

The students at NES are so grateful for our NHS Mentors!  We are so proud of each of our NHS students who commit to one AA time per week to befriend an NES student.  Communication and commitment are the keys to a successful mentoring relationship.  Thank you NHS students for staying true to the purpose of mentoring.  Please see Mrs. Vik if you are interested in being a mentor.

SADD

The Students Against Destructive Decisions are working on a couple of different school-wide initiatives.  We gave every NHS student a candy cane to remind them that SADD exists to encourage good decision-making regarding positive lifestyle choices.
