Band

The NHS Tiger Marching Band recently performed at the Homecoming Game.  This year’s selection was a salute to the Big Ten Athletic Conference entitled “Five out of Ten”.  Next up for the band is the Bayfield Apple Festival Parade on Sunday October 8 at 2:00PM!

Choir

Concert Choir is busy preparing for the Fall Concert on Monday, October 30th. Chamber Singers, Vocal Jazz, Soprano Alto Group, and Wolf Pack are also busy preparing for the Winter Choir Concert on Monday, December 11th as well as the Tour of Schools which will take place during the school day on Thursday, December 21st and caroling at White Winter Winery which is on Saturday, December 2nd.

Drama

The cast and crew of this year's drama team are diligently rehearsing for their first performance next Wednesday, October 4. This is for the sub district competition, where the cast and crew will receive feedback and scores for their production of "Something is Rotten in the State of Denmark," a farcical look at Shakespeare's "Hamlet." Community members are invited to see the public performance at The Night of One Acts, held Tuesday, November 14 in the auditorium.

FCA

Welcome to FCA!  Our leaders for this year are Lawson Burkhart, Jenna Hursh, Addison Hanson and Ashlyn Sutherland.   We meet every Friday morning in Room 3058 at 7:30 a.m.  We are looking forward to Tim Gunderson being with us from the Eau Claire area this Friday.  On October 11, we will be attending Field of Faith at Denfeld High School.  It is a great event that is free and open to anyone.  We have a bus ready for all and it leaves NHS at 6:00 p.m.  Please ask any of the leaders for more information.  Mr. Eberhardt, Mrs. Vik and Ms. Schuster are the FCA advisors this year.

FFA

The FFA student officer team traveled to Bloomer to participate in the Fall Leadership Workshop. Team members include Lily Kwako, Justin Nelson, Maria Wiita, Francesca Germano, Isaac Pooler, and Izzy Dahl. FFA members learned more about their specific leadership position and how to be an effective leader.

NES Mentors

There are several NES students that are looking forward to connecting with a high school student this year.  We have a meeting planned for Oct. 3 in Room 3055.  Mrs. Hietala will lead the training.  Please see Mrs. Vik if you have questions.  We need more Juniors and Seniors and it is helpful to have your own transportation as you have to go to NES during Academic Advisement once a week.  Thank you for considering this great opportunity to make a difference in the life of an elementary student.

SADD

Students Against Destructive Decisions will be doing several school-wide projects.  Our first meeting was super productive and we hope to bring an awareness to the importance of making good choices everyday.  We also hope to reach out to all students in our district.
