Northwestern Middle School is rich with culture, passion, commitment, and dedication. Our families work hard and desire the finest education and opportunities for their children.

Our staff at NMS set the bar for excellence, and strive to do their best, expect the best from our students, and continue to learn with them about life and the lessons within it.

We recognize each and every family member’s concerns, which are profoundly rooted in love and concern for a child. We welcome any and all opportunities to work with our families to create the best experiences for each and every student.

Math Support at NMS

A Message from the NMS Math Team:
Your NMS student has a great learning opportunity to further develop their math skills!

Your child has an online account with the online math program called ALEKS.

This program allows students to develop their math skills at their own individual levels.

ALEKS instructs the student on the topics they are most ready to learn and it periodically reassesses the student to ensure that topics learned are also retained.

We encourage students to take advantage of this learning opportunity and we are hoping for your support in encouraging our students to give ALEKS their best effort.

More time spent on ALEKS will yield even more results.

Please encourage your child to be productive when working on ALEKS and to maximize their time spent on ALEKS (i.e. logging on if finished with other work, using a study skills class to work on ALEKS, and even working at home).

We are so excited for this great opportunity and we look forward to helping our NMS Tigers become even stronger math students!

The NMS Advisory Program

Northwestern Middle School is committed to educating each student to be a productive and responsible citizen. In order to do this our character education program will teach respect, responsibility, honesty, and pride. We will teach, model, and affirm these character traits and provide an opportunity for students to practice these traits at school, home, and in the community.

Respect – We respect ourselves, others, property, and the environment.
Responsibility – We are reliable and accountable.
Honesty – We are honest and tell the truth.
Pride – We act with determination to be the best we can be.
