PRIMARY SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER 
School year position beginning August 24, 2017.  Candidates must have or be eligible for a Wisconsin DPI license that allows teaching special education to students in grades 1 and 2.

STUDENT SUPPORT CENTER (2 PART-TIME POSITIONS) - Northwestern High School
$12.83 per hour
Five (5) days per week (M-F) when school is in session
3 hour and 50 minutes per day
School year only, 178 days
Experience working with school age children preferred.

LUNCHROOM SUPERVISION AND INDOOR/OUTDOOR RECESS - Northwestern Middle School
$10.76 per hour
Five days per week (M-F) when school is in session
11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
School year only, 178 days

PARAEDUCATOR, LIBRARY SUPPORT - Northwestern High School
90 Days  (including four flexible days built in the calendar)
Three (3) days per week:  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday when school is in session
Beginning the end of September through the beginning of May (calendar to be determined)
7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

TIGER'S DEN ASSISTANT TEACHER BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL

Monday – Friday 2 - 10 hours/week school year (summer hours available as well)

Rate: $9.25/hour

Reports to: Tiger’s Den Program Director

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide leadership to children at The Tiger’s Den, a program serving youth ages 5 – 13 at Northwestern Elementary School, Poplar, WI.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide positive leadership and guidance to children in attending the Tiger’s Den. Visually supervise children and immediately respond to emergency situations; observe children in environment; protect and prevent harm to them; communicate with children, parents and other staff; be able to move quickly.

To identify children’s interests, needs, & notes development to discuss with the teacher.

Implement lesson plan activities designed around children’s interests including: outdoor education, literacy, gross motor, art, team-building and games

Provide positive role modeling

Supervise children on field trips and while on buses.

Set-up and clean up after meals and snacks

Actively participate in weekly staff meetings and long range curriculum planning.

QUALIFICATIONS and PHYSICAL DEMANDS

18 years of age or older

Ability to interact with all age levels

Able to accompany children to main program areas, assist Lead Teacher and Program Director in leading small and large group activities, supervise children’s participation in structure and unstructured activities, demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of children served, interact appropriately with children and staff in all types of situations, appropriately model behavior and use of positive behavior management techniques.

Must have enthusiasm, patience, creativity, common sense and a commitment to work with children and ability to build relationships with people.

Must be able to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR

Must be able to complete required training for working as a School Age Child Care Assistant

Able to assist children in emergency (fire, injury, etc.)

Must not present risk of transmission of reportable communicable disease as verified by health professional
